Biography

Jason Schappert is a pilot and author of 8 best selling aviation flight training books. Jason is a Certified Flight Instructor with over 8,000 hours of dual given and was named NIFA’s Top Collegiate Flight Instructor in 2008 & 2012 and AOPA’s Outstanding Flight Instructor of the year in 2014 & 2015. He is also the producer of an innovative online piloting school, known as MzeroA.com’s Online Ground School.

Schappert began flying at age 12, and did his first solo flight at 16. He subsequently became a flight instructor, and earned all the ratings up to Airline Transport Pilot. In 2009 he created a program called Future Pilots Flight Academy for aviation-minded youth in conjunction with the Discovery Science Center.

In 2010 Schappert flew a Cessna 150 on a round-trip Flight Across America from Daytona Beach, Florida to Catalina Island, California and back. Funds raised from the trip were used to promote general aviation. Jason and his team flew around the country in 2014 on the Good Pilot Tour, one of their many stops was at the Southeast Aviation Expo.

In addition to his efforts as a flight instructor and general aviation advocate, Jason is currently producing the film “Flying Again” which features rusty pilots’ (who have not flown in 2-30 years) return to flying.
