Biography
Paul Harrop, Aviation TV Host, AOPA
Paul Harrop lives and breathes two things: Aviation and Television Storytelling. He hosts FlyBy: Powered by AOPA across multiple platforms, and is a reporter for AOPA Live This Week, the aviation industry’s most-watched newscast. Paul is a career news junkie. He has been on the air at KSWO-TV, served as a storm chaser and breaking news journalist for KOCO 5 News, where he took part in projects that earned a Peabody Award in 2008, an Edward R. Murrow Award in 2009 and an Emmy Award in 2010. Before joining AOPA in 2012, Paul was the morning show co-anchor at KAUZ Newschannel 6 where he also did news updates for a network of 7 radio stations. Paul still chases tornadoes whenever he can, hangs out on Ham Radio with the call sign WX5USA, and is a student pilot.
“I am so thrilled to tell the story of aviation to my viewers each week. It is humbling to get to bring an audience along as I fly with AOPA.”
